Relief of acute bronchospasmAdult 100 or 200 mcg. Childn 100 mcg, may be increased to 200 mcg if required. Prevention of allergen- or exercise-induced bronchospasmAdult 200 mcg before challenge or exertion. Childn 100 mcg before challenge or exertion, may be increased to 200 mcg if required. Chronic therapyAdult & childn Up to 200 mcg 4 times daily.
Sudden & progressive deterioration in asthma control. Thyrotoxicosis. Concomitant use w/ xanthine derivatives, steroids, diuretics, & by hypoxia in acute severe asthma; monitor serum K levels in such situations. Discontinue use if paradoxical bronchospasm occur. Pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation.
